Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Tax Pros Services collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: September 2026
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to prepare your return or answer your question:
- Contact details — your name, email address and, if you provide it, your phone number.
- Intake answers — filing status, dependents, income sources and any notes you choose to share.
- Documents you upload — W-2s, 1099s, prior returns, identification and similar tax records, plus the values our document scanner reads from them.
- Appointment details — the times you request, reschedule or cancel.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling of any kind.
How we use it
- Preparing, reviewing and filing your tax return.
- Building your document checklist and pre-filling your intake answers.
- Sending confirmations, reminders and status updates by email or text message.
- Meeting our record-keeping obligations as a tax preparer.
Automated document reading
Documents you upload are processed by an automated scanner that reads key fields (for example wages and withholding) so you don't have to type them. Extraction is always shown to you for review with a confidence level and the exact text that was read — nothing is filed based on an unreviewed scan, and you can correct or re-run any extraction.
Who can see your information
Your documents and answers are visible to the tax professionals working on your file. We use service providers for hosting, database storage, email delivery, text messaging and document scanning; they process data on our instructions only. We disclose information to anyone else only with your consent or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Uploaded documents and the text extracted from them are deleted automatically three years after upload. That schedule is enforced by an automated nightly job, not by hand, and each file shows its delete-after date on your secure page. Signed Form 8879 authorizations are kept for three years as IRS rules require. We keep a file longer only when the law requires us to preserve it, and we record why. You can delete a document you uploaded by mistake yourself, at any time.
Your choices
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Delete an uploaded document from your secure page yourself, at any time.
- Revoke a secure upload link you shared with someone else.
- Opt out of text-message updates by replying STOP.
To exercise any of these, use the contact form and we'll respond within one business day.
